When is it necessary to have your home rewired?
If your home electrics have not been upgraded in the last 25 years, then you will need to get your wiring checked; to ensure they meet current safety standards and regulations.
If it has been over 25 years, then it is highly likely that you will need some rewiring work done, if not a total rewire.
If you are getting an extension or converting one or more room in your property, for example an attic conversion then you will need to make sure that the work is carried out by a registered electrician and that it meets current standards.
We will be entirely honest with you as to what work is required, after an inspection has taken place and would never quote for electrical work that is not required.
Having said that, we trust that you would take our advice, if it does turn out that your home needs rewiring, as we would never want you to put you or your family at risk of fire.
What’s a Registered Electrician?
It is important that any electrical work you have carried out is done by a ‘competent electrician’ who has the relevant skill, knowledge and experience to avoid danger.
Verselec are registered electricians and all our electrical work complies with UK national standard BS 7671 (Requirements for Electrical Installations).
We will issue a safety certificate for any electrical work carried out; to confirm that the installation has been designed, constructed, inspected and tested in accordance with the above national standard.
We would always recommend using an electrician that is registered with any of the following organisations: BRE Cetification Ltd, British Standards Institution, ELECSA Ltd, Napit Registration Ltd, NICEIC Group Ltd or SELECT (Scotland).
Verselec are NAPIT registered electricians, with over two decades of experience; undertaking all aspects of residential, commercial and industrial electrical work, from faulty sockets to complete electrical rewires.
